Maintenance Technician – Food Production

About the role

Ventura Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep food packaging and processing equipment running at peak performance. You will apply food‑safety practices, perform corrective and preventive maintenance, and train production staff to reduce downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform corrective and emergency maintenance on food‑processing equipment.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and work orders to extend asset life.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical and electrical issues.
• Rebuild pumps, mills, gearboxes and other mechanical components.
• Generate work requests, track labor hours, and initiate purchase orders using plant systems.
• Assist and train machine operators on equipment troubleshooting and safe operation.
• Follow HACCP, OSHA, SQF, GMP, and FSMA food‑safety requirements.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 1‑3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret written, oral, and diagrammatic instructions.
• Basic understanding of electronic and electrical concepts.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance and repair.

• Use of hand and power tools.
• Preventive maintenance planning.
