Maintenance Supervisor - Student Housing

About the role

Yugo, a global student housing provider, is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for its Northgate Lakes property. Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager, you will supervise daily maintenance operations, lead the maintenance team and keep the buildings and grounds in top condition so residents have a safe, comfortable environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily maintenance of building systems, grounds and resident spaces, and lead the team on work orders and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect apartments, common areas, equipment and grounds regularly.
• Oversee repairs of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances and structural systems, and handle resident service requests promptly.
• Manage vendors, contracted services, supply ordering and inventory control.
• Develop maintenance schedules, monitor productivity and labor costs, and respond to emergencies and on-call or after-hours calls.
• Maintain tools and equipment safely, implement safety programs, train staff and take part in hiring and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, Fair Housing regulations and applicable laws, and help with property improvement projects.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in residential properties, rental operations or similar.
• EPA Type II or above certification; pool maintenance certification preferred if required locally.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform physical work indoors and outdoors, including occasional work near machinery, at height or around fumes and chemicals.
