Maintenance Specialist – Petrochemical Turnaround Leader

About the role

Join BASF’s Petrochemical division in Freeport, TX as a Maintenance Specialist. You will support the Acrylics and Oxo‑SynGas units by leading the planning, coordination, and execution of major outages, turnarounds, washes, and other large‑scale work scopes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all outages and washes follow the G‑P‑ME 010 Outage Process, including milestone development, scope definition, and governance.
• Validate that planning, work packages, and schedules are complete and execution‑ready.
• Coordinate cost tracking, controls, and the lessons‑learned process.
• Monitor and improve planning and scheduling productivity for routine tasks within specialized events.
• Lead cross‑functional alignment among Maintenance, Operations, Technology, Engineering, and Capital Projects.
• Facilitate discussions on scope, schedule, risk, cost, and resource allocation.
• Develop and deliver stakeholder communication strategies.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the petrochemical industry.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale outage and turnaround projects.
• Strong strategic thinking and communication skills.
• Capability to influence and align diverse stakeholder groups.
