Maintenance Shift Supervisor (Nights)

About the role

Novartis is looking for a Maintenance Shift Supervisor (nights) in Indianapolis, IN. You will supervise a skilled team supporting complex production and laboratory equipment in a highly regulated environment, keeping critical manufacturing operations reliable, compliant and continuously performing. The role is onsite and follows a weekday night shift, Monday to Friday, 5 pm to 2 am, which may change according to business needs. Relocation support is not offered.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance and calibration of production equipment
• Perform and coordinate maintenance and repair of manufacturing and laboratory equipment in a regulated environment
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical and control system issues with minimal supervision
• Interpret process and instrumentation diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical specifications to plan maintenance
• Support startup, commissioning and transition to 24x7 site-based operations, and ongoing maintenance after startup
• Ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance during maintenance
• Complete work orders and keep accurate records in computerized maintenance management systems
• Train maintenance technicians and support investigations and deviations

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred
• At least 5 years of hands-on plant maintenance experience in a GMP-regulated environment
• Prior experience supervising or coordinating maintenance in a production or manufacturing setting
• Cleanroom or controlled environment experience with strict quality and safety standards
• Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds

Required skills

• Computerized maintenance management systems, building management systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control systems
• Desirable: aseptic fill and finish experience, and radiopharmacy or radioactive materials exposure with radiation detection equipment support
