Maintenance Repair Technician – Facilities

About the role

The Maintenance Repair Technician supports the Campus Operations Plumbing Department at UAMS by ensuring that all building systems are functional, safe, and well‑maintained. This position works on a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across the university’s medical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
• Respond promptly to service calls from staff and patients, diagnosing issues and implementing solutions.
• Maintain accurate work orders, logs, and inventory of parts and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, university policies, and local codes.
• Collaborate with other facilities staff to coordinate larger projects and upgrades.

Required profile

• Current University of Arkansas System employee, student employee, or graduate assistant eligible to work in the United States.
• Experience in facility maintenance, repair, or related trades.
• Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and prioritize tasks.
