Maintenance Planner

About the role

BASF’s Coatings division is looking for a Maintenance Planner to ensure continuous, 24/7 operation of its chemical manufacturing processes in Greenville, Ohio. You will plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance, repair, and construction activities while supporting sustainability and safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot operational problems, order repair parts, and manage the work‑order backlog.
• Develop long‑range and short‑term labor plans for in‑house and contractor resources, including cost estimating.
• Maintain critical spare‑part inventory and expedite repairs efficiently.
• Analyze cost trends, track KPIs, and apply Total Productive Maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability.
• Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, contractors, and production teams for turnarounds and annual plant maintenance.
• Use SAP for work‑order creation, procurement, and maintenance data (functional locations, material masters, maintenance plans).
• Utilize Microsoft Office and MS Project for reporting, scheduling, and communication.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (advanced degree preferred).
• At least 3 years of experience in chemical plant maintenance planning.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM regulations, ASME and API codes.
• Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams.
