Maintenance Planner – Industrial Maintenance

About the role

ATS is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support its industrial facilities across the United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. The role focuses on evaluating work requests, developing detailed scopes, and ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance activities are scheduled efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate non‑emergency work requests, develop scopes of work, and inspect job locations to determine requirements.
• Estimate labor hours, skillsets, parts, materials, equipment, and special tools needed for proactive jobs.
• Gather technical documentation (drawings, schematics, OEM manuals) and verify part availability before scheduling.
• Maintain a prioritized work‑order backlog, keeping the Ready Backlog at or above 80%.
• Conduct weekly planning meetings with Production to set priorities and adjust schedules.
• Create weekly technician schedules that fully utilize available labor hours.
• Continuously improve job plans and update maintenance metrics.
• Train site employees on CMMS usage and ensure data integrity.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a technical field.
• 1‑3 years of maintenance scheduling/planning experience or 5‑10 years as a machine repair technician.
• Familiarity with industrial manufacturing environments and electrical/mechanical systems.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to build professional relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using CMMS or other maintenance planning software.
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Computer literacy for technical documentation handling.
