Maintenance Mechanic C

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic C in Newman. The role covers troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining industrial production and processing machinery, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, photo eyes, switches, heat exchangers and level controls.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze test results, machine error messages and operator information to diagnose equipment problems.
• Clean, lubricate and adjust parts, equipment and machinery.
• Disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repairs, then reassemble after inspection, testing or repair.
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
• Test machinery with voltmeters and other devices, operate newly repaired equipment to verify repairs, and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components.

Required profile

• Industrial ammonia refrigeration, high-pressure boiler and utility experience.
• 1-2 years of prior industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical background in addition to mechanical skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as necessary.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Ability to use computer-based maintenance planning/PM ERP platforms; SAP a plus.
• Experience with computerized or automated controls and reading electric schematics a plus.
