Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Facilities Management department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliable operation of building systems. You will work independently while collaborating with a team to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize critical infrastructure across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and maintain Building Automation Systems (BAS) to optimize performance.
• Repair and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems.
• Monitor and service life‑safety systems, including fire sprinkler and smoke control.
• Maintain commercial kitchen equipment, water‑leak detection, and automated material‑handling systems.
• Fine‑tune environmental conditions for occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and building standards.
• Document work in the Integrated Workplace Management System and manage procurement of supplies.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of maintenance engineering experience with vocational/trade school training, or 4 years of engineering experience.
• Emphasis in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical or related field.
• Refrigeration license preferred; recent experience with high‑pressure steam and fittings is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
