Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Campus Living Facilities at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock by performing exterior upkeep, litter removal, and routine repairs across residential properties. This onsite role ensures that student housing and rental homes remain safe, clean, and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preventive, routine, and special‑project maintenance for Campus Living facilities.
• Monitor and clear exterior litter and trash daily, coordinating removal services as needed.
• Perform light grounds work, including trimming overgrown shrubs and maintaining lawns around residence halls.
• Inspect exterior sprinkler systems for leaks or malfunctions and report issues.
• Support minor repairs and upkeep of rental homes and other campus residential properties.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience in groundskeeping, facility maintenance, or related field.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Groundskeeping equipment operation.
• Basic facility maintenance and repair.
• Sprinkler system inspection.
