Mainframe Development & Deployment Tools Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Development & Deployment Tools Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of CI/CD pipelines and toolsets for z/OS applications. The role involves close collaboration with development, QA, operations, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure efficient, secure, and automated delivery of mainframe software.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support mainframe development, testing, and deployment toolsets.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for z/OS applications.
• Configure and manage source code repositories and release management processes.
• Automate build, test, deployment, and rollback procedures.
• Provide support for developer productivity tools and IDEs.
• Implement DevSecOps practices and automation standards.
• Troubleshoot build, deployment, and release issues.
• Support software version upgrades, migrations, and tool integrations.
• Develop automation scripts and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in change management and production deployment activities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience supporting mainframe development and deployment environments.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS, ISPF, TSO, JCL, REXX, and SDSF.
• Hands‑on experience with mainframe source management tools such as Broadcom Endevor, Changeman ZMF, ISPW, Panvalet, or Librarian.
• Proven ability to implement release, change, build, and deployment automation.
• Experience with enterprise SDLC processes and governance controls.
