About the role

The Infosys Financial Services unit is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join its technology team in Jersey City, NJ. You will work on core banking, wealth management and insurance applications, leveraging AI‑enabled platforms to drive digital transformation for leading financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Participate in application design sessions and record design decisions for the development team.
• Develop, test, and integrate new features or enhancements in existing mainframe applications while ensuring system stability.
• Conduct code reviews, maintain code repositories, and apply changes to the codebase.
• Implement test strategies, analyze results, and coordinate bug‑fixes to uphold quality standards.
• Create user training materials, documentation, and support frameworks for smooth application roll‑outs.
• Assist in resolving production incidents and propose preventive measures to improve reliability.
• Maintain detailed records of code changes, testing procedures, and support activities for knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work through the full SDLC.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
• Experience in mainframe environments, preferably within financial services.

Required skills

• COBOL programming.
• DB2 database management.
• CICS transaction processing.
• IBM Websphere MQ Server middleware.
