Mainframe Developer – Banking Domain (Onsite, McLean, VA)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our banking‑focused team in McLean, VA. The role involves designing, developing, maintaining and supporting mission‑critical mainframe applications for core banking processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain IBM mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and VSAM.
• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Create and modify JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and provide production support.
• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root‑cause analysis and optimize performance.
• Participate in system upgrades, migrations and application modernization initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation and adhere to development standards.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with mainframe development in the banking domain.
• Available to work onsite in McLean, VA and attend face‑to‑face interviews.
• Strong understanding of banking processes such as deposits, loans, payments or cards.
