Machinist – Weekend Shift (Fri‑Sun)

About the role

Ichor Systems is seeking an experienced Machinist to join its Osakis, MN facility on a weekend day shift (Friday‑Sunday, 6:00 am‑6:00 pm). The role focuses on high‑quality machining in a fast‑paced production environment, with a 15% shift differential and a $4,000 hiring bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
• Mark and scribe reference points on material for subsequent machining.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories on mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
• Set and adjust machining controls such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting depth, including CNC programming.
• Start machines, monitor operation, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments.
• Verify finished workpieces using calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, CMM, and other measuring tools.
• Conduct trial runs to confirm accuracy of machine settings and programmed data.
• Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and programmers to resolve machining issues.
• Complete required paperwork and computer entries.

Required profile

• 2‑year machining degree preferred.
• Strong experience with multiple machine types and basic setups.
• Ability to train CNC operators and junior machinists.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for intermediate‑level problems.
