Machine Shop Helper

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Machine Shop Helper to keep its fabrication shop running smoothly as it builds autonomous surface vessels. You will prepare raw materials, stage tooling, deburr and clean parts, operate basic shop equipment, and maintain a safe, organized work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Read tape measures, gauges, and test equipment accurately.
• Stage raw materials, load/unload machines, and secure tooling.
• Operate band saws, drill presses, grinders, and other basic equipment.
• Deburr, clean, and stack finished components per specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and work areas.
• Participate in crew meetings, waste‑reduction initiatives, and quality‑control processes.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to stand continuously and lift up to 50 lb.
• Willingness to work alternate shifts, weekends, and overtime.
• Basic math skills and fast, accurate tape‑measure reading.

• Band saw operation.
• Drill press operation.
• Grinder operation.
• Reading tape measures and gauges.
