Senior Electrical R&D Test Engineer

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical R&D Test Engineer to advance autonomous surface vessel (ASV) development. The role involves engineering, designing, building, and testing electro‑mechanical subsystems for maritime autonomous platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and integrate electrical, electronic, and software components for ASV systems.
• Conduct laboratory and field testing, including marine environment trials, and analyze performance data.
• Develop design documentation, schematics, bill of materials, and work instructions for manufacturing.
• Identify failure trends, troubleshoot system‑level issues, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 4–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with autonomous or robotic platforms.
• Proven ability to work independently under tight timelines and deliver practical solutions.

Required skills

• Programming: Rust, C/C++, Python, Linux.
• Circuit simulation: SPICE or equivalent.
• PCB design and development.
• Networking protocols: Ethernet, CAN J1939, serial communication.
• Power calculations, low‑voltage and 3‑phase AC analysis.
• Electrical schematic creation and interpretation.
