Machine Operator I – Manufacturing

About the role

Sandvik is seeking a dependable Machine Operator I to join its manufacturing team in Westminster, South Carolina. This hands‑on position supports the production of high‑quality cutting‑tool solutions used worldwide, emphasizing safety and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned production machinery and equipment following established procedures and safety standards.
• Monitor machine performance and output to meet quality and efficiency targets.
• Perform routine inspections, make basic adjustments, and report any malfunctions.
• Load and unload materials, components, and finished products.
• Conduct visual and dimensional quality inspections and accurately record production data.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in line with 5S principles.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and follow established procedures.
• Basic math, reading, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Current authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).

Required skills

• Use of measuring equipment such as calipers.
• Use of micrometers.
• Use of gauges for dimensional inspection.
