Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

Cardinal Health is hiring a Machine Operator for its manufacturing site in Norfolk, Nebraska, working the 3rd shift (Sunday to Thursday, 11:00pm to 7:00am). The operator sets up and runs light industrial semi-automated equipment used to make a variety of medical devices. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour, which includes a shift differential.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and run light industrial semi-automated equipment to make medical devices
• Operate in-house machines safely, identify emergency stops and report safety concerns
• Load, package and label goods, assemble them on the production line and move bags, boxes and totes to and from the machine
• Add labels, weigh product, verify counts, insert items into shippers and stack on pallets
• Monitor in-process and finished material and report malfunctions or defects to teammates
• Maintain cleaning and safety check documentation in the company system and follow medical manufacturing and housekeeping procedures
• Follow written specifications and procedures in English, collaborate with team members and work overtime as required

Required profile

• Preferred: 0-1 years of experience
• Preferred: high school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions in English
• Ability to work under close supervision and within standard operating procedures
