Machine Operator 2 – Rotating Shift (12‑hr)

About the role

Graham Packaging is seeking a Machine Operator 2 to work on a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule at its Port Allen, LA facility. The role involves operating plastic blow‑molding equipment and supporting production of high‑quality containers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a group of plastic blow‑molding machines and associated in‑line equipment.
• Perform mold, insert and color changes, and monitor HDPE/PET resin, dryer and material handling systems.
• Make minor adjustments and repairs to maintain machine efficiency and reduce scrap.
• Follow all safety, health, GMP and quality policies.
• Participate in continuous quality‑improvement projects.
• Assist with utility tasks during slow periods.

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to work rotating day/night 12‑hour shifts.
• Strong attention to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to follow established procedures and work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Blow‑molding machine operation.
• Basic injection‑molding machine processing.
• Resin (HDPE/PET) monitoring and handling.
• Machine troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Mold, insert and color change procedures.
