Machine Learning Engineer (Clearance Sponsorship)

About the role

CACI is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer in Chantilly to join its information technology team. The role focuses on developing and deploying AI solutions that improve enterprise-level IT operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, build and run AI-driven applications. The position requires a minimum of TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain machine learning pipelines and applications using Python and modern ML frameworks
• Implement and optimize algorithms for large language model (LLM) integration and deployment
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices to serve ML models in production
• Write clean, documented code following object-oriented programming principles
• Work with SQL, NoSQL and vector databases to manage training data, model artifacts and application state
• Containerize applications with Docker and use Git for version control and code reviews
• Test and debug ML applications, and support deployment and monitoring of models in the cloud
• Stay current with ML, LLM and AI engineering best practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science or a related field, with 5 years of professional experience in software development or machine learning engineering
• Ability to obtain active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and good communication skills

Required skills

• Python with object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures and algorithms
• Git, Docker, SQL and/or NoSQL
• Knowledge of LLMs, LangChain/LangGraph, RAG architectures and vector databases (ChromaDB, Pinecone, Weaviate)
