Logistics & Inventory Coordinator

About the role

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is seeking a full‑time Logistics & Inventory Coordinator to join its Supply Chain team in Brooklyn. The role will ensure efficient movement of finished‑goods from the production facility to distributors, retail partners and direct‑to‑consumer fulfillment centers while managing inventory health across a 3PL network.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain end‑to‑end visibility and accuracy of CPG finished‑goods inventory across production, 3PL warehouses, distributors and DTC fulfillment sites.
• Track weeks of supply (WOS) by SKU and location, flagging out‑of‑stock or overstock risks.
• Plan and execute inventory transfers between 3PLs, distributors and fulfillment centers to balance stock and control freight and storage costs.
• Reconcile 3PL and WMS inventory records with the ERP, investigate discrepancies, shrink or damaged product and drive root‑cause resolution.
• Report inventory KPIs (WOS, fill rate, accuracy, aging) weekly with recommendations for rebalancing or replenishment.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight (LTL, FTL, refrigerated) for retail and distributor accounts, booking shipments with carriers and 3PL partners.
• Monitor shipments in real time, communicate delays to internal stakeholders and retail partners, and manage freight claims from initiation to resolution.

Required profile

• Experience in CPG inventory management and freight coordination.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to monitor KPIs and make data‑driven decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to work cross‑functionally with production, sales, finance and external partners.
• Detail‑oriented and proactive in identifying and resolving inventory or transportation issues.
