Logistician II – Supply Chain Operations (DoD)

About the role

IDS is looking for a detail‑oriented Logistician II to manage supply chain and logistics operations in a Department of Defense environment. The position supports full‑spectrum supply activities, ensuring that materials and equipment are properly tracked and available for mission success.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end supply operations including ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing materials.
• Support procurement and contracting activities within a government or military setting.
• Maintain property accountability through hand receipts and inventory management.
• Conduct inventories of Army property and ensure accurate documentation.
• Expedite delivery of critical supplies and identify alternate sourcing options.
• Ensure compliance with Army logistics policies, FAR, and DFARS regulations.
• Utilize the CHESS system for procurement and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate logistics activities to support operational readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Army Supply and Services career field.
• At least 3 years of procurement or contracting experience, preferably in a government or military environment.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Ability to lift or move moderate weights (typically < 20 lb) as required.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the CHESS logistics system.
