Lodging Maintenance Technician - Iron Blosam Lodge

About the role

Snowbird is hiring a full-time, year-round Maintenance Technician for the Iron Blosam Lodge. You will perform the maintenance and repairs needed to keep the lodge in good condition for owners and guests. The schedule varies by day of the week, with shifts such as 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm and 3pm-11pm, and weekends and holidays are required.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain swimming pool and Jacuzzi water clarity, chemical balance and clean appearance
• Perform snow removal and clear fire exits, pathways and other designated areas
• Repair or replace broken kitchen appliances
• Maintain and repair lamps and light fixtures
• Clear clogged drains using power or hand snakes, plungers or drain cleaners
• Diagnose and fix Safelok electronic lock failures and commercial video system problems
• Respond promptly and professionally to owner and guest requests
• Use manual and powered tools, operate Snowbird vehicles and snow removal equipment, and look after lodge equipment

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 or older
• 0-6 months of job-specific experience with maintenance-related work experience or training
• Reliable, mature, able to work with minimal supervision and with some judgment within policy guidelines
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in cold and extreme weather
• Willingness to stay overnight occasionally during road closures

Required skills

• Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry basics
• Basic math, reading, writing and simple arithmetic
• Problem solving and initiative within the scope of the job
