Litigation Counsel

About the role

Uber’s Litigation Team is seeking a seasoned attorney to lead and manage a diverse portfolio of U.S. corporate litigation matters across multiple practice areas. The role supports all delivery lines of business, including UberEats, and reports to a Legal Director.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategy for litigation matters ranging from pre‑litigation threats to class actions, trials, arbitrations, and appeals.
• Conduct fact investigations, draft briefs, respond to discovery, prepare witnesses, and negotiate settlements.
• Oversee outside‑counsel relationships, including staffing, strategy, budgets, invoices, and compliance.
• Provide concise legal advice on contracts, advertising, trade‑secret protection, and product initiatives.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate litigation risks for the business.

Required profile

• 5+ years of broad litigation experience in a law firm or in‑house setting.
• J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy abilities.
• High ethical standards and ability to work with senior business leaders.

Required skills

• Experience managing full‑cycle litigation, including pleadings, motions, e‑discovery, and trial preparation.
• Familiarity with e‑discovery processes, document retention policies, and production.
