Linux Administrator – Infrastructure Consultant

About the role

Infosys Communications, Media, and Technology (CMT) is seeking a Linux Administrator to join its Infrastructure Consulting team. You will work with internal and client teams to ensure robust, secure, and scalable IT environments for telecom, media, and technology customers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and document preventive actions.
• Evaluate client IT infrastructure, produce assessment reports and support due‑diligence activities.
• Design scalable, cost‑effective infrastructure solutions and create technical documentation for deployed systems.
• Coordinate release schedules, execute deployments, conduct post‑deployment testing and manage version control.
• Maintain maintenance windows, emergency fixes and technology upgrades while ensuring uninterrupted service.
• Analyze performance data, support capacity planning and drive system optimisation.
• Perform security checks, recovery drills, compliance audits and implement continuity plans.
• Identify automation opportunities, propose process enhancements and develop a central knowledge repository.
• Act as liaison with onsite, offshore and vendor teams to capture project requirements.

Required profile

• Strong collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to handle complex incidents and deliver effective resolutions.
• Experience conducting IT infrastructure assessments and identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Focused approach to deployment management, system optimisation and process automation.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional and multi‑location teams.

• RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) server installation, configuration and maintenance.
• System upgrades, patch management and kernel updates.
• Performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Version control and deployment automation.
