Line Operator 1

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring Line Operators in North Salt Lake, Utah. The work is in a manufacturing environment producing conduit products and accessories. The schedule is every other weekend, working 15 days a month, with day shifts (6:45am-7pm) and night shifts (6:45pm-7am) available.

Key responsibilities

• Use tools and measuring devices to check that the finished product meets specifications and to spot abnormalities.
• Work with team members so orders are wound onto reels correctly, with neat wraps.
• Cut, tie off and cap conduit when reels or cable are complete.
• Monitor print and footage and make corrections as needed.
• Check product and packaging requirements and complete paperwork for inventory transactions.
• Assist the Line Operator during start-ups and help with cutting, tie-offs and reel changes.
• Take part in training, safety and continuous improvement activities, and report unsafe conditions and broken equipment.

Required profile

• High school education preferred.
• At least 6 months of equipment or machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to maintain safety, quality and attention to detail in repetitive work.
• Physical ability to move around obstacles, wear PPE, stand and walk for 12 hours, work around hot machinery, weather and noise, and lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.

Required skills

• Basic math, measurement and reading comprehension.
• Experience using measuring devices and hand tools.
• Ability to follow work instructions and use basic math.
• Material handling or forklift experience preferred.

• Pay starting at $21 per hour, rising to nearly $26 per hour through the Skills Progression Program; night shift includes an extra $1 per hour.
