Grinder/Pelletizer Operator

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring Grinder/Pelletizer Operators for day and night shifts in North Salt Lake, Utah. The weekly schedule is every other weekend, with a 3-day weekend, and only 15 days of work per month. The day shift runs 6:45am to 7:00pm and the night shift 6:45pm to 7:00am.

Key responsibilities

• Clean the grinding area and dispose of waste.
• Complete regrind report tags and identify reprocessed materials.
• Break down empty gaylords and process scrap duct.
• Coordinate with extrusion to move materials to grinding.
• Operate the pelletizer machine to turn regrind into pellets, unload regrind boxes and stage boxes of pellets.
• Participate in cycle counts, training, safety and continuous improvement, and report unsafe conditions or broken equipment.
• Follow all company policies, safety requirements and work instructions, and maintain a clean work area.

Required profile

• Previous manufacturing experience; machine operator experience preferred.
• 6 months of equipment/machine operation in manufacturing.
• Ability to speak, read and write English; bilingualism is a plus.
• Ability to recognize colors and basic math, measurement and reading comprehension skills.
• Physical ability to stand and walk 8-12 hours, lift and move 50 lbs, climb, reach, squat and bend, and work in environments with temperature variation and noise.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (a plus).
• Use of measuring devices, hand tools and sawzall.
• Able to follow work instructions and use material handling equipment.
