Lifeguard I – Part Time

About the role

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Lifeguard I ensures the safety of all pool patrons, enforces pool rules, and implements emergency protocols as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously scan the pool to prevent emergencies and respond immediately to incidents.
• Perform rescues, provide CPR, First Aid, and emergency oxygen when required.
• Complete incident reports promptly and enforce pool rules.
• Maintain a clean, safe pool environment and assist with pool cleaning and testing when off‑duty.
• Participate in safety drills, trainings, and maintain clear communication with supervisors.

Required profile

• At least 16 years of age.
• Physically able to scan the pool, stand or sit for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lb.
• Available for early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
• First Aid certification.
• Emergency oxygen (O₂) training.
• YMCA Lifeguarding certification.
