Licensed Vocational Nurse II – Mobile Clinic

About the role

The Licensed Vocational Nurse II provides advanced paraprofessional patient care on the East Texas Mobile Clinic team, supporting Nurse Practitioners and ensuring high‑quality nursing services in school‑based and community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, measure vital signs, document health information in the EMR, and assist with examinations, procedures, and medication administration.
• Maintain clinic operations, including inventory management, drug and vaccine logs, vehicle travel, and coordination of medical supplies.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing lab requests, managing insurance information, and serving as liaison with external providers.
• Supervise and train Medical Assistants and student workers, and participate in continuing education and committee work.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited vocational or practical nursing program.
• At least two years of patient‑care experience; three years preferred.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Texas, with ability to obtain BLS certification within six months.
• Valid Texas Class C driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical records systems (eCW preferred).
• Ability to operate a university vehicle safely for mobile clinic visits.
