Licensed Therapist – Military Family Clinic

About the role

The Licensed Therapist will provide evidence‑based mental health treatment to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and their families at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic in Lakewood, WA. The role emphasizes CBT, PE, CPT and measurement‑based, time‑limited care within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual, couples, child and family psychotherapy using evidence‑based modalities.
• Conduct clinical intake, screenings, psychosocial assessments and document progress.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, caregivers and other disciplines to coordinate care.
• Participate in weekly clinical, supervision and administrative meetings.
• Provide telehealth services as required and perform other duties as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in social work (LCSW), counseling (LPC), marriage & family therapy (LMFT) or Ph.D./Psy.D. in clinical/counseling psychology.
• Current Washington State license to practice.
• Minimum three years of experience with adults, children, couples or families.
• Experience diagnosing and treating PTSD, mood and adjustment disorders.
• Experience with military or veteran populations is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
• Knowledge of DSM‑IV/V diagnostic criteria.
• Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel (PowerPoint and Access a plus).
• Competence in delivering telehealth services.
