About the role
The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA) seeks a Licensed Professional Counselor to support the social and emotional wellbeing of its residential high‑school students. This full‑time, on‑site position provides clinical services, counseling, and program development within a vibrant academic community.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group counseling to students addressing mental health, academic stress, and personal development.
- Develop and implement wellness programs and preventative initiatives tailored to a gifted and talented student population.
- Collaborate with residential affairs staff, faculty, and parents to coordinate comprehensive support services.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with state licensing requirements.
- Participate in crisis intervention and emergency response as needed.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or Educational Psychology.
- Current Arkansas license or eligibility to obtain a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Senior Psychological Examiner within six months of hire.
- Experience working in student support programs, preferably with gifted or talented populations.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with standard computer software programs for documentation and communication.
