Licensed Practical Nurse – School Health (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full‑time Licensed Practical Nurse to provide practical nursing care in school health clinics in Miami, FL. The LPN will deliver first aid, health assessments, medication administration, and coordinate care plans for students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first aid, follow‑up health assessments, and direct practical nursing care to students according to clinic protocols.
• Respond to student health emergencies and perform care under standing orders within Florida LPN statutes.
• Manage and update student health records, inputting data into clinic databases.
• Administer medications, treatments, and coordinate care plans for students with medical needs.
• Ensure vaccination compliance and communicate requirements to parents/guardians.
• Maintain clinic inventory, prepare medical supplies, and adhere to infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Current valid State of Florida LPN license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or equivalent; one year of nursing experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work during school hours and attend events outside regular hours.
