Licensed Practical Nurse – Pediatric Allergy/Immunology

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full‑time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Pediatric Allergy/Immunology program. The LPN will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, providing family‑centered care to children with allergies and primary immunodeficiency disorders.

Key responsibilities

• Collect patient assessment data and promptly notify nurses of any actual or potential problems.
• Record patient information accurately and completely.
• Administer medications and perform assigned treatments and procedures.
• Assist with patient intake, clinic visits, and pharmacy prescription refills.
• Obtain lab results, prepare charts, and ensure prior orders are reviewed.
• Support pre‑operative and post‑operative education for patients and families.
• Participate in team conferences, sharing information and ideas.
• Travel to other clinics as needed for coverage.

Required profile

• Active Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Experience or interest in pediatric allergy, immunology, or primary immunodeficiency care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Required skills

• BLS certification.
