Licensed Plumber – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a licensed plumber to join its facilities team on a full‑time basis. The role involves inspecting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining plumbing fixtures across heating, water, and drainage systems to ensure safe and reliable operation throughout campus buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Execute work orders and support projects as directed, keeping daily logs of major components.
• Identify and correct electrical, plumbing, and safety issues related to installations.
• Read and interpret blueprints to diagnose and repair plumbing systems.
• Maintain piping systems by clearing clogged drains, replacing washers, and fixing leaky faucets.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and test equipment performance.
• Repair circulator and sump pumps, refrigeration unit drains, bearings, universal joints, and related mechanical equipment.
• Prepare accurate records of equipment and facility preventive maintenance.
• Mentor junior plumbers and handle complex repairs and modifications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Minimum three years of licensed plumbing experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
