Library Coordinator – Whitfield Murray Campus

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Library Coordinator for the Whitfield Murray Campus of Georgia Northwestern Technical College. This position oversees library operations, supports students and faculty, and ensures high‑quality information services across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Select, order, receive, and classify library materials using the Library of Congress Classification system.
• Enter records into the library management system and maintain accurate library data.
• Process hold requests, manage overdue notices, and generate circulation reports.
• Provide reference assistance, library instruction, and user training.
• Supervise and train part‑time library assistants on automation systems and daily duties.
• Maintain library computers and support emerging library technologies.
• Compile daily, weekly, and monthly statistics and produce reports.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA‑accredited program.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Proficiency with library technology and a willingness to develop new competencies.

Required skills

• Experience with Ex Libris products, specifically Alma and Primo.
• Knowledge of the Library of Congress Classification system.
• Familiarity with library management and automation systems.
