Level III Ultrasound Technologist – Mammography

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth – Department of Radiology at SoLé Mia is seeking a full‑time Level III Ultrasound Technologist specialized in mammography. The role involves performing complex ultrasound procedures, supervising daily operations, and contributing to research and protocol development.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage scheduling and patient flow for inter‑departmental procedures.
• Perform and supervise diagnostic imaging studies under radiologist direction.
• Assist in education and training of new physicians and technologists.
• Collaborate with radiologists and PhDs to develop new ultrasound protocols.
• Participate in research initiatives and help create research protocols.
• Monitor daily charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies.
• Demonstrate ultrasound equipment during site visits and provide in‑service training.
• Verify orders, ensure appropriate exam selection, and obtain necessary consents.
• Operate ultrasound scanners following radiation safety procedures and maintain high‑quality imaging standards.

Required profile

• Level III certification in mammography ultrasound.
• Independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
• Ability to supervise day‑to‑day operations in the absence of the chief technologist.
• Strong attention to detail for order verification and patient identification.
