About the role
The Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is seeking a dedicated Secretary to provide essential clerical support to Assistant District Attorneys and investigators. This role involves handling legal documents, maintaining case files, and assisting in court proceedings.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, review, and record legal documents such as subpoenas, warrants, motions, and discovery.
- Research information to prepare legal drafts, agreements, letters, reports, and correspondence.
- Create and maintain legal files, enter and update data in the department database.
- Attend court calendars, meetings, conferences, and training sessions.
- Assist ADAs in court with audio‑visual and other necessary functions.
- Communicate work progress and potential issues to ADAs and designated staff.
Required profile
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of background checks, fingerprinting, motor vehicle history check, and pre‑employment drug screening.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
