Leasing Professional – The Local Downtown – Student Living

About the role

We are seeking a Leasing Professional to lead marketing, leasing and renewal activities for The Local Downtown student‑living community. The role focuses on achieving occupancy, revenue and resident‑retention targets through full‑cycle leasing and resident satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and qualify prospects, conduct tours, show apartments and process applications, credit and background checks.
• Prepare lease agreements, move‑in packages and ensure smooth resident move‑ins.
• Inspect units before occupancy, coordinate with maintenance to resolve any issues.
• Monitor market and competitor trends, develop short‑ and long‑term marketing plans, and manage concessions and specials.
• Execute marketing initiatives such as resident referral programs, employer outreach, and online advertising on platforms like Craigslist and Facebook.
• Utilize property‑management software (OneSite, Yardi) to track availability, record traffic, manage prospect data and capture demographic information.

Required profile

• Experience in leasing, sales or property‑management environments.
• Ability to conduct tours, qualify prospects and manage the full leasing cycle.
• Strong knowledge of local rental market dynamics and competitor activity.
• Proficiency in using property‑management software and online marketing tools.
