About the role

The Learning Support Specialist I provides supplemental instruction and academic assistance to students in assigned courses, working closely with faculty and tutors to support student success.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist students with writing research papers, presentations, study habits, test anxiety, and note organization.
  • Communicate with faculty and tutors on student issues, identify at‑risk students, and conduct targeted interventions.
  • Collect, track, and monitor student progress data for deans and maintain confidential records.
  • Teach college‑ready and developmental Math and English courses, and lead bridge programs and learning‑skills workshops.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least one year of related experience in tutoring, teaching, or supporting college students.
  • Ability to multitask, work cooperatively, and provide excellent customer service.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with word processing applications.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet applications.
  • Proficiency with database applications.
