Lead Test Engineer

About the role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Test Engineer to support a contract under Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) based in Stafford, VA. The engineer performs research and analysis on new and existing technologies and tools to deliver more efficient software development and test techniques and processes for the Marine Corps client. The position is full-time and onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate automated software test-related technical and strategy discussions.
• Evaluate existing software test tools for implementation in the USMC environment.
• Develop automation requirements and an implementation roadmap for the client.
• Conduct proof of concept and prototype demonstrations on designated programs of record.
• Integrate automated test protocols into existing agile and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of related experience in software test engineering; 2 additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• At least 2 years of experience with automation testing frameworks such as Robot Framework, Appium, TestComplete or similar.
• Knowledge of software acquisition pathway (SWP), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing and deployment.
• Current active DoD Secret clearance required.

Required skills

• Software testing principles, including black box, white box and gray box testing.
• Programming languages such as Java, Python, C# or JavaScript, and ability to write automation scripts.
• Agile development, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Preferred: DoD acquisition/T&E policies, USMC logistics lifecycle management, ISTQB or CSTE certification, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, and AI/ML in testing.

• Projected compensation range of $98,000 to $163,100 depending on experience, skills, location and contract wage determination.
