Lead Software Developer - TFDM (System Management)

About the role

Leidos is hiring a Lead Software Developer focusing on System Management for the FAA's Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program, which delivers NextGen air traffic control capabilities for airport surface management. The role contributes to the modernization of the National Airspace System and involves working directly with FAA customers at airport locations across the country during system deployments.

The position is based in the Egg Harbor, NJ office with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Up to 50% travel is required, typically 1-2 weeks per trip to FAA airport locations where the TFDM system is deployed to 89 airports nationwide.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• 4+ years of proven experience in software engineering
• Deep experience with Ansible playbooks, roles, custom plugins, callbacks and inventory systems
• Strong Python scripting, automation and tool development
• Bash/Shell scripting for complex build orchestration and system automation
• Linux system administration, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and the full lifecycle of systems from bare metal to production
• Container technology with Podman/Docker, container builds and orchestration
• Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, release management, Git workflows and multi-environment deployment (dev/test/prod/lab)
• Knowledge of network configuration, PXE boot and kickstart, VMware and KVM virtual machines, RPM and pip package ecosystems

What we offer

• Pay range of $87,100 to $157,450, depending on experience, education and skills
• Hybrid work and up to 50% travel to FAA airport sites across the United States
