Lead Service Technician – Student Living, Tempe

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Lead Service Technician to oversee the maintenance of its Union Tempe student‑living community. The role ensures that all building systems, common areas and amenities meet the company’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Perform routine grounds and amenity upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, and painting curbs and signage.
• Document all service activities accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever feasible.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in property or facilities maintenance, preferably in a residential setting.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, maintenance manuals and building codes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with residents, vendors and team members.
