Lead Restoration Technician / Crew Chief

About the role

ServiceMaster Restore is seeking an experienced Lead Restoration Technician / Crew Chief to oversee field mitigation projects and lead restoration teams in accordance with IICRC standards. This full‑time, onsite position is based in Peoria and offers a competitive hourly wage.

Key responsibilities

• Lead water damage, fire and smoke mitigation projects and direct daily jobsite operations for technicians and subcontractors.
• Perform moisture inspections, mapping, and psychrometric calculations to determine drying strategies.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust drying, filtration, and air‑scrubber equipment.
• Oversee controlled demolition, removal, and enforce PPE and containment protocols.
• Conduct quality‑control inspections to ensure compliance with IICRC standards and document progress using restoration software.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience in restoration, mitigation, or disaster recovery.
• Demonstrated leadership or crew‑lead experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
• Availability for emergency response and on‑call rotation.

Required skills

• IICRC WRT and FSRT certifications (required).
• Strong understanding of drying science, psychrometrics, and material behavior.
• Experience with moisture inspection, mapping, and psychrometric calculations.
• Proficiency with restoration equipment (dryers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers) and PPE protocols.
• Use of restoration documentation and job‑management software.
