About the role
Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Production Technician for the third shift to head a fast‑paced team building high‑temperature superconducting magnets and related assemblies for fusion devices. The role combines hands‑on production work with leadership, continuous‑improvement, and strict quality and safety oversight.
Key responsibilities
- Hire, lead, and train a team of technicians and welders focused on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and qualify new processes.
- Execute production builds according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Utilize precision tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers while ensuring safety and cleanliness standards.
- Provide regular feedback to supervisors during performance reviews.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of formal leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 6 years of hands‑on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, plumbing, vacuum, epoxy potting, injection molding, cryogenic systems, soldering, and wiring.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality, with the ability to communicate expectations to the team.
- High level of accountability for personal and team performance.

What we offer
- Full‑time, on‑site third‑shift schedule (Monday–Friday, 10 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.).
- Hourly pay with a 15 % shift differential.
