Lead Observer - Construction Security Team

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Lead Observer to lead and oversee the Construction Security Team at Offutt Air Force Base. The role ensures continuous knowledge of the location, performance and scheduling of employees under its control and adequate observation of Amentum and subcontractor staff. It may also cover oversight of specialty items moving to and from the construction zone, supply needs and communication with program management and onsite customer leadership, and help new hires complete onboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the Privacy Act, Title 5, Section 552a and applicable rules, and apply OPSEC principles to protect unclassified information.
• Meet and deal at a high level with the public, coworkers, customers and other staff, and act as liaison between onsite customers and program management.
• Conduct "Stop and Question" checks in closed areas, parking lots and the construction site after hours and on weekends/holidays.
• Write clear, accurate reports when needed and help maintain employee training records.
• Coordinate site requirements with the project manager, provide input for weekly schedules, welcome new hires, issue PPE and arrange security and safety orientations.
• Ensure proper site coverage and that employees are relieved during breaks, acting as liaison for onsite issues.
• Work mostly on the construction site, including Saturdays, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Active TS clearance.
• At least 2 years' experience in construction security surveillance, technical surveillance countermeasures, industrial or government security, construction quality assurance, or hands-on supervisory construction experience, or 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and detailed, timely report writing.
• Valid state driver's license or permit, high school diploma or equivalent, fluent English, and availability to work Saturdays (at least every other).
• No misdemeanors involving moral turpitude, dishonesty, assault or battery, or felonies; physical exam within 35 days of assignment.
