Lead Maintenance Technician

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee the physical upkeep of a high‑rise property during its lease‑up phase. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders and preventative maintenance by diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Track and retrieve materials, supplies, tools and equipment from the maintenance department, maintain inventory records and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds, common areas and amenities by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts, minimizing waste and using tools correctly.

Required profile

• Technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair building systems.
• Experience handling work orders, make‑ready processes and vendor coordination.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory management and documentation.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards and cost‑effective maintenance practices.
