Lead General Superintendent

About the role

The Lead General Superintendent will be the primary on‑site leader for a large commercial construction project in the greater Boydton, VA area. Reporting to the Project Manager, this permanent position oversees all phases from mobilization through final turnover, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and top‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations across all construction phases, from site mobilization to completion.
• Develop and manage site logistics, sequencing, and short‑interval planning to keep the schedule on track.
• Enforce safety policies, conduct site walks, and promote a proactive safety‑first culture.
• Facilitate subcontractor, coordination, and daily planning meetings to resolve field issues.
• Interface with owners, client representatives, inspectors, design teams, and third‑party consultants.
• Drive commissioning readiness, punch‑list execution, and phased turnover activities.
• Identify and mitigate field risks, escalating constraints and implementing recovery plans.
• Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, progress updates, and look‑ahead schedules.

Required profile

• 20+ years of construction experience in the field.
• Minimum 5 years of superintendent experience.
• Proven experience leading large projects (>$100M) and teams of 20+ personnel.
• Prior data‑center experience preferred.
