Lead Forward Deployed Engineer, Industrial AI

About the role

We are hiring a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer, Industrial AI to join the AI Investigation and Incubation team. This senior, hands‑on role will drive the development and deployment of AI solutions in industrial environments, bridging research and real‑world impact.

Key responsibilities

• Provide industrial domain expertise to guide AI tool, platform, and roadmap decisions.
• Work directly with internal and external customers in a consultative manner to gather feedback and refine solutions.
• Drive investigations into advanced AI capabilities for industrial problems and define use cases.
• Develop AI‑enabled demos, prototypes, and proof‑of‑value solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate AI into industrial software systems.
• Evaluate performance and impact of AI models in operational environments.
• Support and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in industrial systems, automation, applied AI, or AI‑enabled software engineering.
• At least 4 years in a customer‑facing, technical lead position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Systems or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or other asset‑intensive industries.
• Customer‑focused, pragmatic, results‑oriented with experience leading cross‑functional projects.
• Hands‑on experience deploying or integrating AI/ML solutions in real‑world industrial environments.

What we offer

• Salary range $255,500 – $425,500 per year (USD).
