Lead Financial Analyst – Inventory

About the role

As a member of Stryker’s Inventory Accounting Team, the Lead Financial Analyst (Inventory) will own the accurate reporting of inventory on the balance sheet and profit & loss, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP. The role combines technical accounting expertise with hands‑on operational analysis to support strategic decisions across the Orthopaedics Division.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business units to provide insightful analysis and streamline inventory processes.
• Execute and oversee inventory transactions and month‑end close activities across the team.
• Calculate, reconcile and analyze inventory balances and reserves, using advanced Excel and Power BI.
• Prepare month‑end journal entries and accruals in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain gross and net inventory balance‑sheet accounts and perform reconciliations per Stryker policies.
• Generate accurate inventory reports that reconcile to the General Ledger.
• Conduct ad‑hoc analyses such as trend reviews, reserve testing and supply‑chain fluctuation studies.
• Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls and Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
• Keep process documentation current, creating or updating complex Excel formulas and Power BI workspaces as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3‑5 years of finance experience in a matrix‑based multinational environment (public‑accounting experience a plus).
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to coordinate actions across dispersed, highly matrixed teams.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Oracle and SAP (S/4HANA and/or SAP BW).
• Knowledge of GAAP and inventory accounting principles.
• Ability to build and use Power BI dashboards for analysis.
