About the role

The Office of the General Counsel at Tulane University is seeking a Law Fellow to support a broad spectrum of legal matters. This one‑year fellowship offers recent law graduates the chance to engage in substantive research, drafting, and policy work across multiple practice areas.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis on topics such as labor and employment, intellectual property, tax, non‑profit, higher‑education, privacy, and compliance.
• Draft and review agreements, contracts, position statements, cease‑and‑desist letters, and other legal documents.
• Assist in developing university policies and monitoring legal trends affecting higher education.
• Support litigation, business transactions, construction, real estate, and international program matters as needed.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA‑accredited law school obtained within the past year.
• Current license to practice law in Louisiana or eligibility for admission within one year.
• Class ranking in the top 30% of the graduating cohort.
